Q: How much will this cost me?
A: Nothing. The workshop is entirely free to Harvard undergraduates.
Q: Will this help me get research funding?
A: Yes, you'll learn the ins and outs of applying for summer research grants, many of which are due in mid-February.
Q: I'm not sure I'm going to write a thesis. Can I still attend the workshop?
A: Yes. The workshop is aimed at thesis writers, but open to all Harvard undergraduates interested in independent research.
Q: Do I need to come with a research topic already in mind?
A: No. That said, if you have one, we will help you refine it.
Q: I'm not a junior. Can I still attend?
A: Yes. While the workshop is aimed to help juniors interested in writing a thesis, all undergraduates are welcome.
Q: Do I have to be a Government concentrator to attend?
A: No. The workshop is open to all Harvard undergraduates interested in social science research. In the past, we've had many attendees from Social Studies, Sociology, WGS, AAAS, and other fields.
Q: Will I have to sit through hours of boring lectures each day?
A: No, this is a hands on, interactive workshop, and the schedule is kept flexible enough to tailor it each day to the specific interests of workshop participants.
This workshop is sponsored by the Center for American Political Studies (CAPS). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
