Ph.D. Candidate in Government

Connor studies political parties and elections in the US using a variety of research methods, focusing on how institutions shape and are shaped by party behavior. His dissertation examines the causes of partisan polarization in state politics, and his other projects explore what effect the election calendar has on voter turnout, why political moderates have become less likely to run for Congress, and how party unity influences legislative activity.
