Ph.D. Candidate in Government and Social Policy

Elizabeth is a PhD Candidate in Government & Social Policy and a Malcolm Wiener Scholar in Poverty and Justice. She studies inequality, social policy, and the political economy of the energy transition in the United States. Her dissertation project examines the politics of the welfare state in regions of the country dominated by single industries. Her research relies on mixed-methods, combining quantitative analysis of administrative data with interviews and fieldwork in central Appalachia.
