Sophie Jacobson Headshot
Sophie Jacobson
Post-Doctoral Scholar, Inequality in America Initiative (courtesy affiliation with Dept. of Government)

Sophie studies the political causes and consequences of inequality in the United States through a policy-focused and comparatively informed lens. Her research investigates how public policy concentrates disadvantage by gender, race, and place, thereby differentiating the quality of democratic citizenship in today’s United States.

Sophie’s work combines historical/archival and interview methods with an innovative microtargeted method for recruiting quasi-experimental panels to measure the effects of policies on citizens’ political participation.
