Ph.D. Candidate in Government

Noah studies the role of geography in the advanced democracies, including the United States. He is particular interested in the efficacy of geographic appeals in politics. Are parties able to use geography as an effective basis for mounting political appeals? Do certain kinds of geographies lend themselves towards more effective appeals? Other parts of his research agenda look at the role of localism in economic voting and the relationship between economic geography and party nationalization.
