Nia Warren

Nia Warren is a recipient of a 2023 CAPS Undergraduate Summer Thesis Research Grant. Nia’s proposed thesis is entitled, “Affordable Housing: A Women’s Crisis.”

Proposal synopsis: In my thesis, I focus on how the lack of affordable housing discourages low-income women, especially women who rely on Section 8 vouchers and public housing, from reporting instances of sexual harassment by landlords. My research will shine a light on an understudied but important issue and offer policy solutions to help create safe, affordable housing for low-income women.
