Brianna Cheng is a PhD student in the Department of History at Harvard University. She is fascinated by the social, political, and intellectual history of US empire, and her work centers questions of comparative empire and transimperialism. She aims to unearth how varying, and often contradictory, transnational constructions of race, gender, and sexual difference structured imperial governance.
