Matt Carson

My work examines construction unions and their organizing strategies, focusing on how these shape unions’ pro-employer stances and weaken their ability to protect workers. I’m interested in how different organizing approaches affect labor’s political power. I also study the connections between economic inequality, gentrification, and police killings, analyzing how race, class, and neighborhood changes impact police violence. This research aims to improve understanding and inform solutions.
