Alice studies labor and public economics, with a focus on how government programs for children and families can be designed to reduce poverty and inequality. Her current projects include examining the welfare implications of how child welfare agencies respond to news shocks, the impact of changes in mandated reporting laws on families’ uptake of prenatal care and infant health, and the role of stigma in reducing the take up of government benefits.
