Ph.D. Candidate in Finance

I study Political Finance, and I am interested in how political cycles and beliefs affect stock market outcomes. For instance, my ongoing work shows that during United governments, where the same political party controls all of the White House, Senate, and the House of Representatives, the U.S. stock market earns substantially higher returns and the U.S. economy experiences higher economic growth than during Divided governments. This suggests that the political gridlock is bad.
