Jacob Sherer
Ph.D. Student in Government
My primary research interests include American politics and political behavior, with a specific focus on political geography and the rural-urban divide. I am interested in the role of place-based identities in influencing people’s preferences, partisanship, and political ideology. I am also focused on understanding how the transition from an industrial to a knowledge economy in the United States is creating new social and political cleavages along geographic, educational, and occupational lines.
