Katherine Rollins is a recipient of a 2024 CAPS Undergraduate Summer Thesis Research Grant. Katherine’s proposed thesis is entitled, “The 1980s Anti-Government Pivot of the Far Right.”

Proposal synopsis: My project will examine why and how the extreme far-right shifted from upholding state authority to formally declaring war against the state at the 1983 Aryan World Congress. Examining the pivotal meeting and its aftermath will provide a window into America’s white supremacist movement and its increasingly violent, anti-government rhetoric and actions.
