Leah Stein

I study the relationship between business and government at the state level. Broadly, I am interested in how businesses use political strategies to translate their economic power into political power and how politicians use public resources and legislation to exert power over businesses. More specifically, I am focused on understanding how business-government relations affect economic growth and decline in U.S. states.
