Maya Bharara is a recipient of a 2022 CAPS Undergraduate Summer Thesis Research Grant. Her proposed thesis is entitled, “The gap between public opinion and public policy action on climate change in Arizona.”
Proposal synopsis:
For my senior thesis, I plan to examine how individuals develop trust in sources of information on the pandemic, and how that trust translates into whether or not they elect to receive the coronavirus vaccine. To answer these questions, I will conduct an ethnography of vaccinated and unvaccinated healthcare personnel – including doctors, nurses, and other workers in the healthcare system – in the Boston area.
