Noah Kassis is a recipient of a 2024 CAPS Undergraduate Summer Thesis Research Grant. Noah’s proposed thesis is entitled, “Ethnography in Lynn, Massachusetts.”
Proposal synopsis: In preparation for my senior thesis, I will continue an ongoing ethnographic study of Neighbor to Neighbor, a working-class political movement based in Lynn, Massachusetts. My study will seek to understand the ways in which American working-class movements can overcome the mobilizational challenges posed by various cleavages in their political base. I will spend my summer collecting ethnographic data, analyzing that data, and conducting a literature review.
