I study the ways that immigration affects politics and intergroup relations in destination societies, including in the United States and other countries, with the aim of discovering what factors facilitate positive interactions between native citizens and immigrants. My dissertation investigates how the arrival of new immigrants affects the way that host citizens view and treat other long-standing immigrant groups.
