The Election Analytics Contest gives researchers access to real-time election data to do innovative research centered on the 2024 U.S. national election.
Participating teams will have access to data between now and November 19th, 2024 to do original research. Analysis can take any form and entries will be judged based on sophistication, insightfulness, and originality. Researchers will be asked to communicate their results in a short report to be published on a dedicated webpage and participate in a post-election showcase of their findings. The winning team will receive a research award of $4,000. Researchers may also use collected data for future projects.
Available data includes:
- Original questions on the CAPS/Harris survey, a nationally-representative survey fielded as often as every day.
- Original questions and experiments on the Harvard Digital Lab for the Social Sciences, a volunteer panel of nearly 30,000 respondents.
- The CAPS-STATARA nationwide voterfile.
Eligibility: All Harvard affiliates. Research awards are limited to students and non-tenured faculty.
